معرض جمعية البحرن للفن المعاصر الثاني عشر
إن تشجيع الدولة للحركة التشكيلية فى البحرين - له بالغ الاثر ، فى تقدم تلك الحركة وازدهارها منذ عهد الاستقلال الذى ننعم بخيره ورخائه بقيادة أمير لبلاد المعظم سمو الشيخ عيسى بن سلمان آل خليفة ، وحكومته الرشيدة .
وإن ما يثلج صدورنا ، ويدفعنا الى الانتاج الفني الوفير ، والعطاء المستمر بخطوات مدروسة متأنية ، هو ما يحرص عليه كبار المسئولين فى الدولة من رعاية للفنون التشكيلية ، وتقديم كل عون ومساعدة لتطويرها وتوفير الدعم المادى والمعنوى لها .
• إن رعاية سمو الشيخ حمد بن عيسى آل خليفة ولى العهد الامين ورئيس مجلس الوزراء بالنيابة للمعرض الثاني عشر لجمعية البحرين للفن المعاصر لهو دليل اكيد على ذلك الدعم والتشجيع والرعاية المستمرة للفن التشكيلي والفنانين التشكيليين فى بلادنا العزيزة .
ففى الفترة من ٥ الى ١١ يناير الجارى اقيم لمعرض الثاني عشر لجمعية البحرين للفن المعاصر بمناسبة العيد الوطني المجيد ١٩٨٤م وذلك بفندق الخليج / قاعة اللؤلؤة ، وقد توجهنا الى السيد الفنان / احمد نشابة أمين سر الجمعية لنجرى معه هذا اللقاء حول المعرض وأنشطة لجمعية الفنية .
كيف تم الاستعداد لمثل هذا المعرض ؟
يقول السيد احمد نشابة :
• إن الجمعية تخطط برنامجها الخاص بالانشطة الفنية التى تقوم بتنفيذها حسب الفترات الزمنية المحددة لها بموافقة وزارة الاعلام ويأتى هذا المعرض ضمن ذلك البرنامج الفني الحافل بمختلف الفعاليات . وقد قامت لجمعية بدعوة الفنانين والفنانات من اعضائها للمساهمة الفعالة لانجاح هذه التظاهرة الفنية ، التى تشهد نتائجها قاعة العرض هذه بفترة كافية تسبق قيام المعرض ، ثم تمر الاعمال الفنية المقدمة للمعرض امام لجنة فنية تختارها الجمعية من الفنانين والفنانات من اعضائها وذلك لتقييمها فنيا من حيث صلاحيتها للعرض وأذكر هنا أن الجمعية قد اشركت عدداً من الفنانين والفنانات فى ذلك التقييم ، بحيث ساهمت الفنانتان سميحة رجب ولولوة عيسان مساهمة جادة فى ذلك التقييم بجانب الفنانين الآخرين ، وبذلك فاننا قد قطعنا شوطاً مهماً ، فى تزويد اللجنة الفنية باستمرار بالعناصر الجيدة من الفنانين والفنانات الذين سيكون لهم دور كبير فى الحركة الفنية فى البحرين . وللعلم فان المشاركين والمشاركات قد بلغوا اربعين فنانا وفنانة .
اما حول السؤال الذى يقول أين تضعون هذا المعرض بالنسبة للمعارض السابقة

فيقول : احمد نشابة
أننى لا اغالي حين اقول اننا قد حققنا الكثير من التقدم والتطور فى كثير من المتطلبات الضرورية لنجاح تلك المعارض العامة ، وخصوصاً لان جمعية البحرين للفن المعاصر هى اول كيان انشئ للفنانين منذ ١٩٧٠م ، ولها من التجارب ما يؤهلها دوما ان تكون رائدة فى تطوير الحركة التشكيلية فى البحرين بما تساهم به من معارض وانشطة فنية اخرى تحت رعاية الدولة ، ومساعدة المسئولين فى الجهات المختصة .

The Twelfth Exhibition of the Bahrain Association for Contemporary Art
The state's encouragement of the fine arts movement in Bahrain has had a profound impact on the progress and prosperity of that movement since the era of independence, whose goodness and prosperity we enjoy under the leadership of the esteemed ruler of the country, His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and his wise government.
What delights our hearts and drives us to abundant artistic production and continuous giving with deliberate, careful steps is what senior officials in the state are keen on in terms of sponsoring fine arts and providing all aid and assistance for their development and providing material and moral support for them.
• The patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Acting Prime Minister, for the twelfth exhibition of the Bahrain Association for Contemporary Art is sure evidence of that support, encouragement, and continuous patronage for fine arts and fine artists in our beloved country.
During the period from January 5 to 11, the twelfth exhibition of the Bahrain Association for Contemporary Art was held on the occasion of the glorious National Day 1984 at the Gulf Hotel / Pearl Hall. We approached Mr. Artist Ahmed Nashaba, Secretary of the Association, to conduct this meeting with him about the exhibition and the association's artistic activities.
How was the preparation for such an exhibition carried out?
Mr. Ahmed Nashaba says: • The association plans its program for artistic activities that it implements according to the time periods specified for them with the approval of the Ministry of Information, and this exhibition comes within that artistic program, full of various activities. The association invited male and female artists from its members to actively contribute to the success of this artistic event, whose results this exhibition hall witnesses with sufficient time preceding the exhibition. Then the artworks submitted to the exhibition pass before an artistic committee chosen by the association from male and female artists from its members to evaluate them artistically in terms of their suitability for display. I mention here that the association involved a number of male and female artists in that evaluation, so that artists Samiha Rajab and Lulwa Eisan made a serious contribution to that evaluation alongside other artists. Thus, we have made important progress in continuously providing the artistic committee with good elements from male and female artists who will have a major role in the artistic movement in Bahrain. For information, the male and female participants numbered forty artists.
As for the question that asks where you place this exhibition in relation to previous exhibitions... the time periods specified for them with the approval of the Ministry of Information, and this exhibition comes within that artistic program full of various activities. The association invited male and female artists from its members to actively contribute to the success of this artistic event, whose results this exhibition hall witnesses with sufficient time preceding the exhibition. Then the artworks submitted to the exhibition pass before an artistic committee chosen by the association from male and female artists from its members to evaluate them artistically in terms of their suitability for display.
Ahmed Nashaba says: I do not exaggerate when I say that we have achieved much progress and development in many of the necessary requirements for the success of these public exhibitions, especially since the Bahrain Association for Contemporary Art is the first entity established for artists since 1970, and it has the experience that always qualifies it to be a pioneer in developing the fine arts movement in Bahrain through its contribution of exhibitions and other artistic activities under state patronage and assistance from officials in the relevant authorities.

ويأتى هذا المعرض حصيلة تجارب ليست بالسهلة ، عانت منها الجمعية ، حتى استطاعت ان تقيم معارضها بالمستوى الفني الذى يباركه المسئولون فى الدولة ، وذلك بفضل تشجيعهم ورعايتهم الدائمة.
• وقد بذل الفنانون اقصى جهودهم الفنية والعملية لتقديم افضل انتاج يتمشى مع امكاناتهم الذاتية .
كما لاننسى دور مرسم الجمعية ، فى تهيئة لفرصة المتواضعة للفنانين للعمل الجماعى فى حابه ، يلتقون فى ألفة وود ، يتدارسون ويعملون فى صمت وهدوء لتكون الثمرة معرضاً فنياً يأتى فى قمة المعارض التى تقيمها الجمعية ، يفاخر لفنانون بانتاجهم الفني هذا بمناسبة عظيمة علينا جميعاً وهى مناسبة العيد الوطني المجيد فى مسيرة الرخاء والتقدم في ظل سمو امير البلاد المفدى الشيخ عيسى بن سلمان آل خليفة .
• ولا انسى هنا ايضا ، ما قامت به لجنة التنظيم والتنسيق من جهد متواصل ، وعمل دعوب فى وضع ذلك المعرض فى الصورة اللائقة فنياً - تمشياً مع وضع القاعة وهيكلها المعمارى - فاعضاء اللجنة ومن ساعدهم يستحقون الشكر لما بذلوه فى تلك المهمة الفنية .
• بهذا المعرض نكون قد قطعنا خمسة عشر عاما من العطاء الفني هو عمر جمعيتنا وكياننا الفني لذي نتطلع ان نقدم من خلاله انشطتنا الفنية ، صورة افضل وشكل احسن ، فمسيرة الفن التشكيلي مستمرة وواعدة ، تبشر بالخير .
أما حول المكاسب الفنية التى تحققها جمعية من مثل هذه المعارض ؟
يقول احمد نشابة:
ن اي نشاط فني يقام لابد له ان يحقق مكاسب اعلامية ويرصد نقطة مضيئة فى سجل اي حركة فنية ، وخصوصاً اذا كان ذلك النشاط بأتى ناجحاً وموفقاً .
فمعرض الجمعية الثاني عشر ، معرض موفق فضل التوجيهات والرعاية من المسئولين ، واؤكد هنا ان معارض الجمعية يزداد جمهورها يوما بعد يوم ، وهذا ليس من قبيل المجازفة او لغط الكلام ، انما هو ما يشهده الجميع ويدل على ان الجمهور البحرينى قد قطع شوطاً فى مفهومه للمعارض الفنية والانشطة الفنية الاخرى التى تقيمها الجمعية ، ويحرص ذلك الجمهور على ارتياد تلك المعارض ومشاهدتها ومناقشة الفنانين فى تعبيراتهم ، وابداء ملاحظاته لهم التى تكون دائما منطلقا لهم لتقديم انتاجهم الفني يتمشى مع البيئة ، والتراث والتقدم المعاصر والفنون الاسلامية العريقة .
اما من ناحية الصحافة ، فأنا عاتب على اصحابها ، وخصوصا الصحافة المحلية ، فانها تتردد كثيرا فى الاشارة للفعاليات الفنية فى صفحاتها ، ونود ان لا يطول انتظارها لبطاقة الدعوة للمعرض للحضور مع الجمهور ، شاهدة المعرض ، انما ننظر نحن منها ، ان تتوجه لتؤدى دوراً هاماً لها فى نشر الفن التشكيلي والتعريف به ، وهذا عين ما نراه صوابا .
فلم تعد الخاطرة عن المعرض او النشاط الفني هامة لدينا ، ولم يعد صد الصحافة واهمالها للنشاط الفني بهام ، انما ما يهمنا الصحافة التى تحضر الحدث الفني بدافع ذاتي من وحى الواجب ومن نداء الامانة الصحفية .
• كما اننا نتمنى من المؤسسات الوطنية ، والبنوك ان تساهم مساهمة فعالة ، فى انتشار لعمل الفني ، فأعمال الفنانين فى المعارض تجسد ما يود الجمهور مشاهدته عن البيئة البحرينية الاصيلة والتراث البحرينى على الدوام .
وبالنسبة لمستويات المشاركين والمشاركات من الفنانين والفنانات يقول احمد نشابة امين السر :
• إن عمق التجربة الفنية لدى جمعية البحرين للفن المعاصر فى مجالها الفني اعطاها دفعا بما لايدع مجالا للشك لان مشاركة الفنانين على اختلاف مستوياتهم الفنية فى معرض واحد ، يجعل من ذلك المعرض بحق تظاهرة فنية وارتياحا للناظر والمشاهد ، ويكون دافعا للفنانين نحو التطور ، وتقديم الاجود ، فالعمل الفني الجيد عنصر هام فى كيان المعرض الفني ، وقد شارك فى ذلك المعرض بجانب الرواد من الفنانين عدد من الفنانين والفنانات الذين يعرضون لاول مرة اذكر منهم على سبيل المثال :
الفنان عبد الحكيم الظاعن وعبد الامير حسن عيسى وجابر محمد حسن وفضيلة الفريخ وفتحية النجار وشهناز محمد نور وغيرهم وليس المجال هنا للتأكيد على ما قدمه هؤلاء الفنانون من موضوعات فنية او مستوى فني ، انما لمعرفة مدى استيعاب المعرض دائما للوجوه الجديدة من الفنانين والفنانات ، والمتتبع لتجارب الجمعية فى مثل هذه المعارض يلاحظ ان الجمعية تمتاز بخاصية فنية فريدة هى البحث المستمر وتقديم الفنانين والفنانات للجمهور فى معارضها المختلفة شريطة ان تكون اعمالهم الفنية جيدة ، وأصيلة ويلاحظ ايضا ان الجمعية قد ساهمت فى ابراز العديد من الفنانين والفنانات الذين لهم دور ملحوظ فى الساحة الفنية الآن .
أما عن مشاريع الجمعية الفنية المستقبلية والاستعداد لها فيقول الفنان احمد نشابة :
كان فى برنامج الجمعية المقترح للدورة الانتخابية ٨٥/٨٣م عدة فعاليات فنية اشارت مجلة البحرين فى احد اعدادهما عام ١٩٨٤م لبعضها ونأمل فى الدورة الانتخابية الجديدة ٨٧/٨٥م ان تتحقق الكثير من الفعاليات التى يضع مجلس الادارة اقتراحاته لها ، لتتطلع الجمعية لاقامة المزيد من المعارض فى دول مجلس لتعاون فى الخليج العربى ، بعد موافقة لمسئولين فى الدولة كما نتطلع الى اقامة معارض للجمعية فى دول الوطن العربى واقامة معارض عالمية ، هذا بالاضافة الى المعارض الشخصية ، ومعارض الفنانات عضوات الجمعية .
دائما نتطلع نحو المزيد من العطاء الفني ونتوق لان نجعل العمل الفني عنصراً حضارياً .
وهذا ليس بخيال فالمسيرة الفنية واعدة ، فى مسيرة الرخاء والتقدم والعطاء متجدد ، والأمل يحدونا جميعاً .

This exhibition comes as the result of experiences that were not easy, which the association suffered through, until it was able to hold its exhibitions at the artistic level blessed by state officials, thanks to their encouragement and continuous patronage.
• The artists exerted their utmost artistic and practical efforts to present the best production in line with their personal capabilities.
We also do not forget the role of the association's studio in providing the modest opportunity for artists to work collectively in its space, where they meet in familiarity and affection, studying and working in silence and tranquility so that the fruit is an artistic exhibition that comes at the pinnacle of exhibitions held by the association. The artists take pride in this artistic production on a great occasion for all of us, which is the occasion of the glorious National Day in the march of prosperity and progress under His Highness the beloved ruler of the country, Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
• I also do not forget here what the organization and coordination committee did in terms of continuous effort and dedicated work in putting that exhibition in the proper artistic form - in line with the hall's position and architectural structure - so the committee members and those who helped them deserve thanks for what they gave in that artistic mission.
• With this exhibition, we have completed fifteen years of artistic giving, which is the age of our association and our artistic entity through which we aspire to present our artistic activities in a better image and improved form. The march of fine arts is continuous and promising, heralding good things.
Regarding the artistic gains that the association achieves from such exhibitions:
Ahmed Nashaba says:
Any artistic activity that is held must achieve media gains and record a bright point in the record of any artistic movement, especially if that activity comes successful and well-received.
The association's twelfth exhibition is a successful exhibition thanks to the guidance and patronage from officials, and I confirm here that the association's exhibitions increase their audience day by day. This is not a matter of speculation or idle talk, but rather what everyone witnesses and indicates that the Bahraini public has made progress in its understanding of art exhibitions and other artistic activities held by the association. That public is keen to frequent those exhibitions, view them, discuss with artists their expressions, and offer observations to them that are always a starting point for them to present their artistic production in line with the environment, heritage, contemporary progress, and venerable Islamic arts.
As for the press, I blame its owners, especially the local press, as it hesitates greatly in referring to artistic activities in its pages. We would like it not to wait long for the exhibition invitation card to attend with the public and witness the exhibition, but rather we expect it to play an important role in spreading and introducing fine arts, and this is exactly what we see as correct.
The impression about the exhibition or artistic activity is no longer important to us, nor is the press's neglect and disregard for artistic activity important, but what matters to us is the press that attends the artistic event from personal motivation inspired by duty and the call of journalistic trust.
• We also hope that national institutions and banks will contribute effectively to the spread of artistic work, as artists' works in exhibitions embody what the public would like to see about the authentic Bahraini environment and Bahraini heritage always.
Regarding the levels of male and female participants among the artists, Secretary Ahmed Nashaba says:
• The depth of artistic experience at the Bahrain Association for Contemporary Art in its artistic field has given it a push that leaves no room for doubt that the participation of artists at different artistic levels in one exhibition makes that exhibition truly an artistic demonstration and comfort for the viewer and spectator, and is a motivation for artists toward development and presenting the best. Good artistic work is an important element in the entity of the artistic exhibition. Participating in that exhibition alongside the pioneer artists were a number of male and female artists who are exhibiting for the first time. I mention among them, for example:
Artist Abdul Hakeem Al-Dhaen, Abdul Ameer Hassan Isa, Jaber Mohammed Hassan, Fadila Al-Furaikh, Fathiya Al-Najjar, Shahnaz Mohammed Noor, and others. The space here is not for confirming what these artists presented in terms of artistic subjects or artistic level, but rather to know the extent to which the exhibition always accommodates new faces among male and female artists. Those who follow the association's experiences in such exhibitions notice that the association is distinguished by a unique artistic characteristic, which is continuous research and presenting male and female artists to the public in its various exhibitions, provided that their artistic works are good and authentic. It is also noted that the association has contributed to highlighting many male and female artists who have a noticeable role in the artistic scene now.
Regarding the association's future artistic projects and preparation for them, artist Ahmed Nashaba says:
The association's proposed program for the electoral cycle 83/85 included several artistic activities, which Bahrain magazine referred to some of them in one of its issues in 1984. We hope in the new electoral cycle 85/87 that many of the activities for which the board of directors puts its suggestions will be realized, so that the association looks forward to holding more exhibitions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, after approval from state officials. We also look forward to holding association exhibitions in Arab countries and holding international exhibitions, in addition to personal exhibitions and exhibitions by female artists who are members of the association.
We always look forward to more artistic giving and yearn to make artistic work a civilizational element.
This is not fantasy, as the artistic march is promising, in the march of prosperity and progress, and giving is renewed, and hope drives us all.
