The literature on Nasser AlYousif runs from a poet's illustrated first edition to the monograph that placed his work before an international readership for the first time.
Nasser AlYousif (Skira, 2019)
Nasser AlYousif, Skira, Milan, 2019. ISBN 978-8857238159. The first monograph devoted to the artist, published in Milan and distributed internationally, surveying five decades of work from the early oil paintings of Muharraq and the pearl diving series through the zinc etchings of the 1980s to the braille period and the late linoleum prints made after the loss of his sight.

SPOTLIGHT SERIES - Nasser AlYousif (2017)
The catalogue accompanying the 2017 retrospective at Bin Matar House, Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, Muharraq, with an essay by Dr. Maha Azizeh Sultan and material from the symposium chaired by Prof. Nada Shabout.
The Harvest Dosettes
The artist's own handbound inventory of his work: some four hundred pages, compiled and numbered by AlYousif himself, recording paintings and prints with brief notes on medium, date and subject. It remains the primary reference for the collection, and the "no." given on each work page refers to its entry here.
The Thirst of Palms (1970)
Ali Abdulla Khalifa's collection of poetry, first published in Beirut in 1970 and reprinted in four editions, illustrated throughout with AlYousif's black-ink drawings. The drawings, begun in 1969, are among his earliest mature work and a reservoir of imagery he returned to across his career.
Where does the sadness come from? (1972)
AlYousif contributed the cover illustration to Where does the sadness come from?, Alawi Al Hashimi's 1972 book on the Palestinian occupation, one of his earliest ventures into book design.
Beginning of Love (1985)
He illustrated the cover of Beginning of Love, Abdulrahman Al Rafie's 1985 poetry collection, continuing the association between his imagery and Bahraini literary publishing that began with The Thirst of Palms.
